Indigo Oasis

Camp Brooks is an old fishing camp, from way back when, when Fort Walton Beach was known as Camp Walton, and Destin wasn't even a dot on the map. Men would come here and rent these camp cottages, which at that time had no plumbing or electricity. People would visit to fish and, well, CAMP! Today, these cottages have been remodeled into fully-furnished mid-term and long-term rentals catering to the military, traveling professionals, and locals that want to experience downtown living.


This amazing property consists of 7 tiny cottages. I have maintained the vintage feel, while adding all modern day luxuries. "Indigo Oasis" is a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage with a living and dining area, and a fully functioning kitchen. The space is small and for long term rentals, is sized perfectly for one person. Short term rentals can accomodate a higher occupancy as you will only have your suitcases. There is a couch in the cottage that folds out into a bed for children. Each cottage on the lot is pet friendly. If you are looking for military housing, PCS housing, a mid-term stay, or a long-term place to live, I have you covered. If you just want an inexpensive place to stay while you visit our beautiful beaches, if it fits onto my calendar, I would love to have you!


On the lot you will find a collection of authentic Floridian cottages offering quaint accommodations for guests that prefer a unique experience in a downtown setting. Camp Brooks is situated half a mile from the some of the world's most beautiful beaches, sits at the foot of the Destin/Fort Walton Beach bike path, and is a quick boat ride to Crab Island. Boat rentals, fishing, jet ski rentals, a vintage movie theater, downtown dining, nightlife, concerts, markets, and shopping are all just a few steps away.

  • 1 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen, dining area, living area, full kitchen, and work desk
  • Long-term rentals have a max occupancy of one person
  • Short-term rentals can accomodate 2 adults, and 1-2 children on an air mattress that you provide
  • Pet Friendly
  • There is a beautiful new walk-in shower, no tub
  • This is a small, simple space. There is no washer/dryer but laundry service is available
  • Wifi and Smart TV included
  • Public beaches are 1/2 mile away

Long Term Tenants (6 months+)

$1600/month fully furnished. This rate includes all utilities: power, water, sewer, trash, internet, pest control, and yard maintenance. Rate is based on single person occupancy.
Security Deposit is $500, refundable upon a clean and on-schedule departure.
Pet Deposit is $250. Pets are $50/month extra.

    Long Term Tenant Requirements
  • Credit score 650+
  • Income to rent ratio 2.5x
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Maintain a clean living space, inside and out
  • Clean A/C filter monthly
  • Be courteous to other Camp Brooks tenants
  • No loud/aggressive/excessively barking dogs



One Month Rentals (Less than 6 months)

$1750/month fully furnished, plus a $125 cleaning fee upon departure, plus 13% tax.

Security Deposit is $500, refundable upon a clean and on-schedule departure.
Pet Deposit is $250. Pets are $50/month extra.

    Monthly Tenant Requirements
  • Rent may be required in full up front, terms TBD
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Maintain a clean living space, inside and out
  • Clean A/C filter monthly
  • Be courteous to other Camp Brooks tenants
  • No loud/aggressive/excessively barking dogs


Vacation Rentals / Per Diem Rentals

Your rental total will be a nightly rate, plus a $125 cleaning fee, plus 13% tax. You can get a quote over on the quote/book it tab. I honor government rates including United States military per diem. This is perfect for PCS housing for Eglin and Hurlburt Air Force Bases.

Security Deposit is $250, refundable upon a tidy and on-time departure.
Pets are welcome. There is a $150 pet fee, but no extra pet deposit.
Laundry service is provided (pickup/delivery) for per diem rentals.

If you want to rent indefinitely (month to month until who knows when), just choose any date, and tell me what you need in the comments. Notice: I take payment by e-check, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Cash, cash in my hand, money order, you name it...but... Credit Cards are expensive to swipe on large rental transactions. A 5% fee will be added if you want to pay by card. Credit Cards are intended for short term only and are not accepted on monthly/recurring rental payments.

Variable Lease Options

I am happy to rent this cottage on a month-to-month basis for as long as you like, or offer short term rentals (less than monthly) if they occur soon. I don't want to mess up a long term tenant by having a weekened rental 3 months down the road. I have other rental properties, including beachfront, that may work for you if this doesn't fit. Tell me what you need, and I will work hard to make something work for you.

The Wright Stay

We stayed here for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely perfect in every way! It was cute and cozy for my fiancé and I, surprisingly very quiet for being that close to the Brooks Bridge. We loved how convenient it was to get to Publix or Waffle House, late night eats (; we would definitely book this place again for another staycation! As a local, it’s hard to find places you would actually want to stay at other than your home, but this was such an amazing find!

She provides a full calendar of local events perfect for families or adults, and she’s incredibly knowledgeable about the entire panhandle—from parasailing and jet skiing to snorkeling and beach days, she knows exactly who to book with for the best experience and service. And when it comes to food, she’s got the top recommendations for every occasion, whether you want a casual seafood spot or a date-night dinner.

What we love most is that we can just book with her and relax, knowing our vacation is practically planned out with the best of the area. She even offers grocery pickup and stocking at a super affordable rate, which made arriving and settling in so convenient. Summer Fun

My mom and I took a short vacation to Fort Walton, while there we stayed in one of Danica’s beautiful cottages. It is in a convenient area in downtown. Although it’s downtown it was surprisingly quiet. As walkers we enjoyed exploring nearby parks as well as the sacred Temple Mound nearby. As usual the weather was wonderful. We’ll definitely return in the future.

Best Customer Service for vacation rentals

Danica offers by far the best customer service I’ve ever received! Normally we book through Airbnb and deal with Vacasa or another property management company and just get generic messages with brief detail of our instructions. Adventures at the Cottage

Camp Brooks is an absolute gem and a perfect destination for a family getaway. My family of four ended up staying 7 days! The cottage has a welcoming atmosphere surrounded with natural beauty. The convenience of being so close to the beach, restaurants, grocery store, and shopping made our stay even more enjoyable. When we arrived, our groceries were already stocked so we could go about our day!

Our young son and daughter had a blast with all the exciting activities around. From splashing in the waves, to parasailing, to crab hunting at night, going to crab island, to eating great seafood and to boating in the bay, there was never a dull moment.

The cottage was well maintained and provided a cozy and comfortable retreat after our adventurous days. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible hospitality of Danica, our host. She truly went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Danica had an answer for everything we could possibly need for an amazing family beach vacation, making our trip seamless and stress-free. We can’t recommend Camp Brooks highly enough and can’t wait to return for another incredible family getaway!

The Cute Little Cottage: SCORE!

This was our 3rd time booking with Danica, and our first booking her Brook's Camp! We booked last minute this year our normal go to, Waterscape, was full. We completely trust booking with Danica and knew she would take care of us booking the cottage. It was clean, super cute, safe, cozy and the price was just right. My 9 year old twins especially loved walking to the Waffle House in the mornings and playing music on the juke box while waiting on waffles. Sometimes it's the little things ;). We loved making new memories and the boys loved the luxury camping by coast in the sweetest little cottage! Thank you Danica for another fabulous vacation!

The Cute Little Cottage: SCORE!

We love the cozy feel of the cottage. It was perfect for the two of us and the dog! The location was super convenient and we really appreciated you helping get us on the beach! The cottage was adorable and we had no complaints! The construction was a little loud at times and we got trapped for a bit one day in vacationer traffic. Other than that it was perfect.
